Intensive Introduction to TEI


The Hesburgh Libraries Center for Digital Scholarship, the Medieval Institute, and the Office of Digital Learning are please to offer a 2-day Intensive Introduction to TEI workshop, intended to serve humanities students and researchers who are interested in learning about using text encoding as a scholarly tool.  

The workshop is comprised of sessions covering essential text encoding concepts in a presentation format, as well as opportunities for hands-on practice. 

No prior experience with XML is required.

Brown bag lunch.

Requirements

  • Bring a wireless-enabled laptop with the latest version of the Oxygen XML Editor. A free 30-day trial is available here.  (A limited number of loanable laptops is available.  Please request a laptop when completing your registration.)
  • Bring a sample of material for encoding to be utilized during practice sessions.
  • Please plan to attend both days of sessions.
