Author Rights: A hands-on workshop
Your scholarship is your intellectual property right up until the moment to sign your rights away in order to get published. Interested in finding out what's in those click-through agreements and how to keep the rights that are important you? Let our librarians show you the alternatives and strategies that can help you keep more what you created.
Participants will:
- Acquire basic understanding of author agreement language that may signal loss of rights to their own material;
- Practice reading and analyzing actual publisher-author agreements;
- Discover where to seek assistance in reading and understanding agreements now and in future;
- Work with author addenda and other language that can be used to negotiate acceptable author-publisher rights agreements.
