Introduction to HTML and CSS with Bootstrap (Beginner)

Introduction to HTML and CSS with Bootstrap (Beginner)

For those who use the Web to communicate with others professionally, a basic familiarity with HTML and CSS (and at least a conceptual literacy for Javascript) can improve the clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness of your communication and design. Even for those who don’t intend to become diehard coders, a fundamental understanding of these three languages will help you better understand the workings of the contemporary internet. In this hands-on workshop, we will create a fully functioning website from scratch.

      Learning Goals

  • Learn the foundations of HTML, including page structure, the box model, and key HTML elements

  • Learn the foundational concepts of CSS, including the different types of styles (external, embedded, and inline), positioning elements on a page (and using the Web Developer Console to inspect and edit styles

  • Learn to leverage the Bootstrap framework to rapidly and efficiently create stunning webpages which both have a common design aesthetic, and work across all devices.

No coding experience is required for this workshop.
